Made from the new extra breathable Hydro/Dry waterproof, windproof fabric with fully taped seams, this quality Sprayway Santiago Rainpant gives complete waterproof protection. With tough durable nylon on the outside, the middle waterproof layer is safeguarded on the inside by a tough, super smooth nylon taffeta lining which aids breathability. A Durable Water Repellent DWR coating is applied to the surface fabric to help your perspiration to escape by preventing the surface from wetting out when its raining. The material used allows your sweat to escape so you can stay dry and comfortable whilst mountain walking, hiking, backpacking or camping in these mens waterproof overtrousers. There is a waterproof back pocket with the Sprayway logo embroidered into the pockets top flap. An elasticated waist band with an elastic drawcord and toggle ensure the pants stay up in difficult conditions. Ankle zips are included so the trousers can be put on whilst wearing boots. ( If your boots are muddy, place your foot in a plastic bag first! )

Washing Instructions: The outer surface of the fabric has been treated to give a Durable Water Repellency (DWR) as the first barrier to keeping you dry. Clean your garment regularly in order to maintain this:

  • Machine wash in warm water at 30C/86F with Nikwax Tech Wash or Grangers equivalent.
  • Alternatively you can hand wash in Dreft.
  • Rinse.
  • Renew the DWR with the appropriate Nikwax or Grangers product if necessary.
  • Drip dry.
  • DO NOT use fabric softeners or bleach.
  • Never dry clean.
  • Cool iron only

Technical Specifications

  • New improved Hydro / Dry fabric guaranteed to keep you dry and will hold back a column of water 10 metres high without leaking i.e. the Hydrostatic head is 10,000 mm.
  • Excellent breathability rating or MVTR (Moisture Vapour Transfer Rate) of 15,000 g per square metre over a period of 24hrs. So if your jacket is made from 1.3 square metres of material, it will transfer 19.5 litres of perspiration every 24 hrs.
  • The fabric used has a hard wearing plain weave nylon face and a silky smooth nylon taffeta lining on the inside to protect the waterproof layer.
  • The outer surface of the material is treated with a Durable Water Repellent (DWR) surface treatment. This prevents the surface of the material from wetting out when it rains and therefore enables perspiration vapour to escape from the inside even when its raining.
  • The DWR will wear off in time and is best replenished every six months or so after the garment is washed. This can be done using the reproofing products supplied by Nikwax or Grangers.
