SpraywayThe Sprayway Atlanta IV Women's Waterproof I.A. Jacket with Hood. This Inter-Active (I.A.) jacket has an internal zip enabling the Atlanta Inter-Active fleece to be zipped inside to provide extra warmth in winter. It uses the new two layer Hydro/Dryfabric which is waterproof and windproof with excellent improved breathability. The inner waterproof layer is protected by a mesh and taffeta lining which aids breathability. Taped seems are used throughout to ensure the jacket is fully waterproof. A Durable Water Repellent DWR coating is applied to the surface fabric to aid breathability by helping to stop the surface fabric from wetting out when its raining. Durable Taffeta lined zipped pockets are positioned high enough so they can be used when carrying a rucksack with hip belt. The hood has a wired peak, volume adjuster and elastic cord around the face aperture with non-whip toggles for adjustment. All zips are protected by double storm flaps for outstanding performance in wet conditions. A napoleon style chest pocket is large enough for an O/S map. The material used allows your sweat to escape so you can stay dry and comfortable whilst mountain walking, hiking, backpacking, camping or going to the shops!

Suggested Uses: Walking, Hiking, Trekking, Backpacking, Camping, general use in wet weather such as watching a hockey match.

  • The new improved Sprayway Hydro-Dry two layer fabric is waterpoof, windproof and highly breathable. An inner waterproof, breathable layer is protected by a hard wearing, plain weave nylon (polyamide) on the outer face and a polyester mesh combined with a taffeta lining on the inside. With a very impresssive minimum hydrostatic head of 20,000 mm and breathability of 15,000 gms/sq m/24 hrs this is a performance to rival that of Gore-Tex.
  • The outer surface of the material is treated with a Durable Water Repellent (DWR) surface treatment. This helps to prevent the surface of the material from wetting out when it rains and therefore enables perspiration vapour to escape from the inside even when its raining.
  • Fully taped seams with durable seam tape ensures full waterproof protection.
  • Designed for walking and hiking, this jacket has a back length of 76cm for size 12 with enough room for winter layering.
  • Inter-Active (I.A.) with internal zip so an Atlanta I.A. fleece can be zipped inside during cold weather.
  • Drop tail for butt protection at the back and unrestricted leg movement at the front.
  • Weight is 628 gms (1 lb 6.15 oz) for size 12 which is less than the weight of a bag of sugar.

  • Full length front zip with double storm flaps for oustanding performance.
  • A Napoleon style chest pocket large enough for O/S maps is accessed from underneath the double storm flaps on the main front zip.

  • The hoods reinforced wired peak keeps out driving rain. The hood also features an excellent system for adjusting the elasticated draw cord around the face aperture. A toggle can be held down between finger and thumb whilst the elasticised cord is adjusted, fabric guides prevent the cord from being whipped into your face by the wind.

Sprayways new improved two layer Hydro / Dry fabric is guaranteed to keep you dry and will hold back a column of water 20 metres high without leaking i.e. the Hydrostatic head is 20,000 mm. There is a breathability rating or MVTR (Moisture Vapour Transfer Rate) of 15,000 g per square metre over a period of 24hrs. So if your jacket is made from 1.3 square metres of material, it will transfer 19.5 litres of perspiration every 24 hrs.
The fabric used, has a hard wearing plain weave nylon face with an inner waterproof layer, which is protected on the inside by a polyester mesh lining for enhanced breathability with a tough taffeta nylon lining where necessary.
The outer surface of the material is treated with a Durable Water Repellent (DWR) surface treatment. This prevents the surface of the material from wetting out when it rains and therefore enables perspiration vapour to escape from the inside even when its raining. The DWR will wear off in time and is best replenished every six months or so when the garment is washed. This can be done using the reproofing products supplied by Nikwax and Grangers.
