The Ronhill Women's Stride Windspeed Running Jacket is a wind resistant jogging top. Whether you are new to running or have been obsessed with running for years you will appreciate the benefits of a wind resistant jacket. Perfect for most days, when it’s not raining, a wind resistant jacket will be the most comfortable option for some protection from wind chills and a light drizzle. This is because the breathability is not impeded by a waterproof laminate found on waterproof jackets.
Through experience and research Ronhill have extablished that the ideal wind resistant jacket has an air permeability of around 5. Air permeability measures how wind resistant any fabric is with a score of 0 being totally windproof, whilst a result of around 5 means that the trade-off between wind resistance and breathability is at the ideal level for runners.
For road safety this top has charcoal reflectivity both front and back, plus the sleeve hem.
The jacket is lightweight, durable, ultra breathable and wind resistant with a relaxed fit. It is made from Activelite fabric which is a tightly woven lightweight wind stopping Polyester with a quality (Carbon 6) Durable Water Repellent (DWR) treatment. A full length self locking front zip enables the zip to be locked in position at the level of ventilation required. Behind the zip a wind baffle keeps out the drafts. The collar is lined with micro fleece for comfort and warmth, similarly the top part of the inner wind baffle and zip guard also feature micro fleece for comfort thereby protecting your neck from the zip. A zipped right hand side security pocket with self locking zip can be used for your phone with a button hole at the back for a wire to your headphones. The pocket is also useful for the safe retention of keys/money/gel shots when running. Part elastication in the bottom hem helps to keep out the drafts. The sleeves feature thumb loops which enables the sleeves to be pulled over the top of your hands to give maximum protection from the wind. This jacket helps to regulate body temperature by quickly wicking away perspiration to the outer surface where it evaporates, giving a cooling effect to keep you cool during exercise. On the other hand, on cold days, the jacket blocks the wind and traps air inside to provide insulation to keep you warm.
